Information for upcoming 2025 season

Reminders

• Pre-season Conditioning will begin Jan. 13th – Jan. 23rd  from 3:45 – 5:30
• All participants must have a current physical, Rank One information completed, and be academically eligible per GHSA; to try out for baseball at SPHS – Due by 12/20/24.
• Tryouts will begin on Jan. 27th
• Tryout times; Mon. – Wed: 3:45 – 6:30
• First cuts will be made Wednesday Jan. 29th.
• Final cuts will be made by Friday Jan. 31st (if needed)
• Team will be posted to the team webpage – southpauldingdc.com
• Returning players are NOT guaranteed a spot on the roster
• Playing time is NOT guaranteed in High School sports
• The SP Diamond Club will host a First Pitch dinner on Tuesday Feb. 4th at 6:30 for all players and parents. Parents will remain for a “parent only” pre-season meeting
• Picture day will be TBD
• Jamboree will be held February 1st - 10:00 (first game)
• Practices will be held daily from 3:45 to approximately 6:30
• Practice will be held on Saturdays. Times will vary
• There will be games and practices during winter break for varsity, JV, and freshman players. Feeder players will be off
• Feeder, Freshman and JV players will have spring break off (April 7th – 11th)
• Varsity players will be off from April 5th to April 8th. Varsity will practice on April 9th at 6:00, and have game on April 10th at Central – These practices are Mandatory
• Practice will resume as normal April 14th.
• Feeder team conditioning will begin Jan. 27th from 5:00 – 7:00
• Feeder teams will begin practice on Jan. 30h from 5:00 – 7:00
• If, at any time, a player is going to miss practice for any reason, a parent needs to notify Coach Sneddon (not an assistant coach), or Scott Brown for feeder.
• Missing practice can affect playing time. It is important to attend all scheduled events
• It will be cold; players should dress accordingly. Pitchers are required to wear sleeves until they are told otherwise.
